Where to Spend a May Day in Mayfair

As May draws ever closer, and the spring showers turn into hot summer days – we’re finally starting to get some excuses to enjoy the outdoors in London. And you know what that means – the season of pop-ups, street festivals and general outdoor excitement can finally begin.

If you’re looking for some ideas for how to spend a day in the great outdoors this month (whether that’s on Mayday or just a day in May!), we’ve got some ideas. Here’s a look at our favourites.

Somerset House’s Photo London

Each year, galleries from over 20 different countries come together to host Photo London – an event described by The Guardian as ‘The UK photography event of the year’. Over 100 exhibitors will be here for three days only between the 17th and 20th of May.

This is almost certain to be a popular event, so if you’re interested in photography and your short stay in Mayfair lands on these days – make sure to book your tickets well in advance!

Go to an open-air theatre

Like going to the theatre? Like relaxing in the park? Can’t decide which you’d rather do? Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre has you covered – and their summer season begins on the 17th May with an old classic: Peter Pan.

Luckily the season stretches out all the way until the start of September – so whenever your visit to our London serviced apartments falls this summer, you’ll be able to get your London theatre fix.

Celebrate the royal wedding with afternoon tea

We’re pretty sure we’re not the only people in London excited about the upcoming royal wedding. And if you’re lucky enough to be in our short let apartments in Mayfair over the weekend of the 19th May, then enjoying a royal-themed afternoon tea at the Ruben’s Hotel is a great way to get into the spirit.

Just moments away from our serviced apartments in Mayfair – you won’t have any trouble there whatsoever before or after a day bound to be filled with royal wedding festivities.
